Driving Directions

St. George Island is accessible from the east and west in several ways.
US Highway 98 runs along the coast, and makes for a pleasant, scenic drive if you are heading from those directions. This route takes you along part of the Florida Big Bend Scenic Byway.

You can also travel via I-10, and head south to the Island via FL-69 and FL-65.

Airports

The commercial airports closest to St. George Island are:

Tallahassee International Airport (airport code TLH). Approximately 1.5 hours away. Tallahassee is currently served by Delta, American, and Silver Airways.

Panama City’s Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (airport code ECP). Approximately 2 hours away. Panama City is served by Southwest, United, Delta, and Silver Airways.

For private planes or charter flights, there are two additional options:

Apalachicola Regional Airport (AAF): County-owned, public-use airport.

St. George Plantation Airport (F47): Private landing strip in St. George Plantation. Requires arrangements.
