Florida Gulf Coast Vacation Rental Home :: Gulf Beaches Neighborhood
Stretching
for four miles in the center of the island, "Gulf Beaches"
was the first platted subdivision on St. George Island. Its
center six blocks (straight ahead as you exit the Bryant Patton
Bridge) are St. George's commercial district. The homes of
Gulf Beaches are eclectic, convenient, and enjoyablefrom
old-fashioned cottages perched right on the sand to widow-walked
homes elevated on stilts. Frontage of the one-third-acre residential
lots is 90-100 feet each, and generous 8-foot public easements
give all vacationers easy beach
access. Developed later, the "East End" extends for two miles
between Gulf Beaches and the Julian G. Bruce State Park. With
the low density of one-acre lots and an uninterrupted walking
beach right to the island's eastern tip, the East End is a
favorite for beachcombers.
