Welcome to your kingdom by the sea. Nestled amidst tall pines, majestic oaks, and plentiful palms, the Bloom House sits on a private acre in the popular East End of St. George Island. Take a 5-minute walk across the road and down a shady, secret path, and you will find your feet sinking into the soft, white sand of the Gulf. In the opposite direction, the Apalachicola Bay beckons the fisherman in you. It is the perfect St. George Island getaway.
Whether splashing in the surf, searching for shells on miles of award-winning, unspoiled beaches, or exploring the Island on paddleboard or bicycle, you’ll find lots to do before sunset at this Old Florida charmer. Close to local shops, restaurants, nightlife, St. George Lighthouse Museum, playground, fishing pier, and State Park, the best of the Forgotten Coast is within easy reach at the Bloom House! The happening arts, culinary, and shopping scene in Apalachicola await you a mere 30-minute-drive away!
The Bloom House sits on a sprawling acre with wide, open spaces to explore and delightful pockets to discover. You’ll never run out of things to do. Challenge family and friends to a game of volleyball on a grassy court or a rousing round of ping-pong or foosball in the outdoor game room below the house. For a quick cooling or rinsing off, step under the outdoor shower to enjoy the gentle, rainlike stream of cold water (hot water, too!). If your ideal vacation demands a little less recreation and a lot more relaxation, sink into the welcoming hammock for an afternoon of swaying sleep. Sip your morning coffee on the second-level deck, with a peek-a-boo view of the bay and the swooshing sound of the ocean--it’s the perfect spot to greet the multi-color dawn. Enjoy the wholesome fun of an afternoon barbecue in the charming picnic area, complete with a park-style grill and roomy picnic table. In the evening, gather everyone around the stone fire pit for campfire songs, stories, and s’mores.
Upon entering the house, you will find yourself on the main sleeping level. It features two queen bedrooms, each with a smart TV and closet. One of the queen bedrooms features a workspace. Another bedroom offers two twin beds, a smart TV, and a dresser. All the bedrooms feature nightstands with built-in lights and charging stations, and all are cheerfully decorated with nostalgic images of Old Florida. You also have use of a full bathroom on this level with a tub/shower combo, as well as a stack washer/dryer.
Up the stairs, the top level greets you with a crisp, open living/dining room/dining area with a comfy, beachy sofa and chairs, and tons of windows lightly dressed in billowy, linen drapes. It’s instant relaxation. Sink into the seating of your choice and watch a movie on the smart TV (equipped with Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and cable). In the cooler months, or on those chilly late-summer evenings, enjoy the cozy warmth of an electric fireplace. And remember, in old Florida, the stars are big and bright. Feel free to take the telescope out to the wrapping deck and map out the stars.
The shabby-chic, coastal dining room table comfortably seats 4 for dinner and board games, which are stowed in the fireplace cabinet. There is also a full bathroom on this level with a stand-up shower—no need to fight for your place in the shower line!
The cozy kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs, it has a portable dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, charming sea-inspired dishes, mugs, and tall glasses perfect for sipping some refreshing Florida sweet tea.
You come to St. George Island for the sand and surf. When you’re done with your fun in the sun, what could be better than to drift home—away from the crowds—to your private slice of Old Florida. Welcome to the Bloom House.
