SGI Never Disappoints
We are wrapping up our week on SGI. This was my 5th time staying on the island, each time in a different house. Seaesta is in a great location with very easy access to the beach, even without a boardwalk. This is an older house and shows some signs of age. We noted this most on the condition of the exterior doors. Most are warped and difficult to open/close and lock. We found one that worked well & used it all week. The bedrooms are as expected. Two of the three bathrooms show their age. I recommend replacing shower heads. Every time we travel we pack our own kitchen knives, because the ones provided in the rental houses are usually dull. This year we didn't even take them out. We did have to wash silverware between every meal in order to have enough clean for the next one (and we are a party of 6). Otherwise we had everything we needed (pots, pans, serving bowls, plates, etc), and we cooked all of our meals. There is plenty of comfortable deck furniture. We tended not to use the screened in deck because there wasn't much of a breeze there. The pool was great & used by all, as was the outdoor shower. If I had a single strong recommendation it would be that all of the living room upholstered furniture get a thorough cleaning. Other than that, we're here for the beach & outdoor living and the beach, as always, is AMAZING! Don't shy away from this affordable home, just manage your expectations.- Kristine P from Woodbury, Posted: 08/27/2021
Fabulous location and mostly a great house. Needs a bit of updating in the kitchen. There is a musty smell in the upstairs bedroom i hope can be addressed before we are back in July. i realize it's a beach house but i was not able to use that bedroom. I didn't let the staff know until we had left so they were not aware. We had some issues with sliding doors not locking but the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Looking forward to returning in July.- JANE H from WHITESTONE, Posted: 03/02/2021
Twin beds are old and extremely uncomfortable. The kitchen items are as old as can be. For a home with 4 bedrooms you would think they could provide a coffee pot that worked. I gave it 4 stars because spending time with family was awesome. Please get new pots and pans. New mattresses are also needed- Carol V from Oxford, Posted: 08/30/2020
Thank you for your review. We appreciate you letting us know about the pots/pans and the coffee pot. Please know that if you would have called our office we would have replaced them for you we keep those items in stock and we would have had someone deliver them new. We will get those items taken care of. As for the mattresses, we will go check those out and let the owner know so that they are aware. We hope you enjoyed your stay and look forward to helping you plan your next vacation.- Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island staff, Posted: 08/31/2020
The location of the house is fantastic, close to everything and right on the beach! The house is a little dated but very typical of slightly older beach homes and the few minor things we experienced the office sent the maintenance crew to address right away. The office staff and maintenance crew were all very friendly and accommodating. The online listing does state it but there is a washer and dryer. They provide some bath towels, wash cloths, and all the bed linens but no beach towels - as expected. The kitchen had lots of cooking stuff like plates and bowels and such. Thankfully we brought some cooking utensils as that was a little limited - for example there wasn’t a spatula. It didn’t really bother us though honestly. They had luggage carts and one baby gate which was nice. The pool was great and was located on the side of the house so our son could play in the shade in the afternoons so it provided a little break from the sun. It got great sun in the mornings and early afternoon. The beach was not crowded at all so it was very easy to socially distance. The beach is dog friendly so it was nice that we could take our little pup on the beach a few times as well. Overall we had a great week and would definitely stay again.- Jenny M , Posted: 09/01/2020
