Hi Island Lovers! It’s bright and hot here today, as we continue working to determine when homes will be ready for your return.
Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island takes the safety of our guests and the security of our homeowners’ properties VERY SERIOUSLY.
We are seeing some people posting that “everything is fine” with their house(s) but we want to point out a few important things:
1. Just because a house “looks fine” doesn’t mean it is. We have discovered a number of houses with damage that isn’t apparent until the utilities are back on and an RVP employee is in the home.
2. Even if a house is fine, the Island isn’t. Septic tanks floated out of the ground and spilled in a number of places. Hazardous debris – broken glass, sharp boards and roofing, nail-studded construction lumber – litter the Island.
3. The East Gulf Beaches is still holding water and has homes you have to wade through water to reach.
4. Especially in the Plantation, but across the beaches, most boardwalks have been wiped away. Plantation beachfront homes, even the ones that escaped major damage, in some cases have a dangerous 15-20 foot drop from their deck to the sand, from the opening where the stairs and boardwalk used to be.

We will be open for bookings and invite guests back as soon as it is responsibly possible. We won’t rush this process and endanger our guests or properties to make a quick buck.

We continue contacting guests who were due to arrive 10/10 – 10/26 week with status updates, and then guests due after that.
We’re making progress on getting y’all back down here – bear with us!
